CREATIVE STUDIOS

Private studio spaces line the North side of the second floor. Castle Community will offer these studios for rent, available exclusively to Threshold Arts members. The spaces are constructed with glass walls and doors to allow maximum natural light to pass through into the Commons. The use of glass will also allow for the public to see into the studios and interact with working artists while in the Castle Community Commons.

Expectations of studio tenants:

  • All tenants must be a current member of Threshold Arts (included in monthly rent)

  • In collaboration with Threshold Arts, participate in the programming of the Castle Community Commons

  • Participate in regularly scheduled "open studio" programming, allowing for public interaction while working in your space (10 hours weekly average)

  • Commit to actively working in your studio for a minimum of 20 hours/week

  • Host a monthly community engagement event (class or workshop, field trip, studio open house, artist meet-up or gathering, collaborative art activity, artist salon, reading, musical performance, etc...) at the Castle

TURRET GALLERY

The Turret Gallery is located on the Northeast corner of the third floor of the Castle. Threshold Arts staff, board, and members work together to program the gallery in multiple ways, including but not limited to gallery exhibitions (Threshold member art, local art, private collections, traveling exhibitions, etc…), lectures, classes, and workshops. The gallery is also available for use as a unique venue for intimate meetings, private dining, and small events.

COMMUNITY STUDIO

The Community Studio is located on the Southeast corner of the third floor. This space is available for community members to use free of charge for a limited number of hours, based on availability. The Community Studio must be booked (facilitated by Threshold management) in advance and is available during the hours of operation of the common areas of the building (8am –  8pm).  Users of the Community Studio may conveniently order meals or snacks from Cameo on the first floor. Threshold members and Castle Community tenants will have priority in booking this space for collaborative work, classes, workshops, artist lectures, author events, etc…
