Frequently Asked Questions for Borrowers
How does this work?
The CRATE is open to everyone! Patrons can borrow one piece at a time. There is no fee to borrow art, but donations are accepted. All you need is a government issued photo ID to borrow a piece of original. The CRATE operates on an honor system, we expect patrons will protect pieces they borrow and return them within the established lending period (see below).
How do I borrow art?
Attend a lending event, select a piece you would like to borrow, complete the registration form with your contact information and enjoy for approximately two months!
What type of art is in the collection?
The collection is comprised of estimated 50-100 local art pieces of various mediums including, but not limited to, painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and textile. Works may not be more than 36" in any direction (this includes framed dimensions), or weigh more than 20 lbs.
How do I return art?
You can return the art to the same location where you borrowed it. If you are unable to attend the return event, you can schedule a time to return the piece directly to the Castle by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org. All items must be returned by the scheduled return event date.
